Professor Otete C. Okbiah was educated at RCM primary school, Ugbomoya inland; St Ita’s Girls’ College, Sapele and Imaguero Teachers’ Training College, Benin City. She obtained her BSc in Biology from Carlow College, Pittsburgh, MSc in Rehabilitation Counseling (S.I.U) at Carbondale, both in USA and Phd in Guidance and Counseling from University of Nigeria Nsukka, her special areas of interest include Counseling Special Population, Practicum and Family Counseling. Professor Okobiah has served as the Coordinator, Curriculum and Teaching Unit, Institute of Education, University of Nigeria, Nsukka. She was also Head, Educational Psychology Department, Delta State University; Director, External Degrees; and Provost Oleh Campus, Delta State University. She is a Fellow, and currently the National President of the Counselling Association of Nigeria and Head, Counselling Psychology Department, Delta State University, Abraka. Professor Okobiah is a member of professional bodies such as the Nigerian Educational Research Association, Council of Exceptional Children (USA) and American Counselling Association.
