CERTIFICATE AND LICENSURE BOARD (CALB)

The Certificate And Licensure Board (CALB) was constituted to carry out the following functions;

  • To come up with a document that would professionalize the counselling profession. Such a document would contain guide lines for

    1. the registration of the association
    2. for making the association an international profession
    3. for the expected behaviours of counselling
    4. for the issuance of license, to practising counsellors, and disciplining of erring members.

QUALIFICATION

  1. Any member of CALB shall ordinarily be a holder of, at least a masters degree in Guidance and Counselling of not less than ten years (10yrs) post graduate experience.
  2. He/She must have been a registered member of the Association for not less than ten years
  3. The above notwithstanding with exceptions to i and ii above may be in case of members who qualified to board membership by virtue of their elective positions.

MEMBERSHIP

That hence forth, membership of CALB shall be made up of the following;

  1. The Vice President - Chairman
  2. Immediate past President Member
  3. The founding President
  4. Two fellows of the Association
  5. The Most Senior Counselling Officer in the FME
  6. One Counsellor Educator from any Tertiary Institution, not below the rank of an Associate Professor
  7. Six full members of CASSON representing the six geo-political zones in the country
  8. Assistant Secretary General Member/Secretary

Those elected to fill the elected positions of CALB are
